About Hannah Curran, Founder and CEO of Pure Born

Hannah Curran is the founder and CEO of Pure Born, a homegrown eco-friendly brand that creates plant based products made with bamboo for environmentally conscious mothers and their children. For the last 3 years, the 28-year-old mom and entrepreneur has quietly grown Pure Born to become a market leader in the organic nappies category. Pure Born can now be found in all major retailers across the UAE such as Carrefour, Lulu Hypermarket and the Union Co-op, in addition to their own e-commerce platform.   

Hannah who grew up in Cheshire, United Kingdom inherited her entrepreneurial drive from her mother, who owns a successful children nursery brand in UK. Working closely with children ended up being the catalyst that sparked the idea for Pure Born. In 2011, Hannah moved to UAE to pursue a career working with nurseries and children. It was during this time she realized that there was a gap in the Middle Eastern market for good quality eco-friendly family products that were also accessible.  

In 2016, at the age of 23, Hannah launched the first Pure Born product range, which took 2 years to develop. Hannah spent a lot of time researching and sourcing the best products and ingredients to without compromising on quality. Hannah’s Pure Born journey began with her knocking door to door to get interest from retailers and distributors. In 2017, Baby Shop signed as the first retailer to stock Pure Born products with an order of 3,000 products, Hannah ended up manually packing all the boxes by herself from her warehouse in Al Quoz.   Since then she has grown Pure Born into a brand that can now be found in all major retailers in the UAE. In March 2018, Pure Born entered the KSA market, followed by Bahrain and Jordan and in July 2018, the brand introduced fully biodegradable nappy packaging.   

In October 2018, Hannah became a mum, to her son Rocco, maintaining a balancing act between motherhood and entrepreneurship.   Hannah is a big believer in giving back and has incorporated this into the Pure Born brand. Five (5%) of the brands annual proceeds go towards supporting children around the world. Each year Pure Born support a cause close to their hearts.

To date, Pureborn is now expanding into new categories and products which will soon launch in the Middle Eastern market. Year 2021 will be a big year as Hannah made it to Forbes Middle East’s 30 under 30 which is a great and well-deserved achievement for our Founder. As for the brand, Pureborn will be expanding our portfolio and will be in 15 countries to date as well as maintain our commitment to provide eco-friendly products for babies and families with only pure goodness.

About our Connect with Crunchmoms events

We have a new location for our weekly Connect with Crunchmoms' sessions on Sunday at 9 AM at Intersect by Lexus at Gate Village 7 in the DIFC until the end of 2021!

Driving? There are a few recommendations for parking at DIFC. 

Gate Avenue Self-Parking: it is free for the first three hours and 10 AED per hour after the three hours. It's a 10-minute walk to Intersect by Lexus. If you go into DIFC towards the car park at Gate Avenue, turn right into it but once inside, go left and park up that end. Go towards the furthest door, that's the closes to Gate Village. There you will also find the validation ticket desk where you will need to validate your ticket before you leave.

DIFC Self-Parking: There is paid parking at DIFC which is free the first hour and 20 AED for the second hour.

Valet Parking: You can valet park and get it validated with a minimum spend by the restaurant of 65 AED for the first three hours. 

RTA Parking: There is also RTA parking on the streets around DIFC if you're lucky to find a spot. 

The convenient entrance is in front of Building 10 or 8. If you park at Building 5, take a left when you exit building 5 and when you see Boca on your left, turn right in a small alleyway into a small court-yard type area. If you park at Gate Avenue, it is a 10-minute walk.
